This is easily the best Airbnb experience I have ever had. Elizabeth and Eddie have created a farm oasis in the mountains, and I feel so grateful for the opportunity to experience it. The cottage was very cozy and inviting. They even provided fresh eggs from the hens and delicious home made cookies. I loved all the windows and screened in porch upstairs. It felt like a beautiful relaxing nature retreat even when I was inside. The most special and unique thing about this stay was getting to know all of the lovely beings who live at the farm - animals and people! Eddie and Elizabeth are wonderfully inviting without being intrusive at all, and the animals are clearly very well cared for and are a joy to be around.
I loved every second of my stay here and cannot recommend it highly enough!

Shaggy goat farm is wonderful. The pool house is surrounded by lush greenery and has plenty of porch seating for enjoying the view. Sleeping on the screened-in upper porch is amazing because you are able to hear all the forest noises and rain. If you are interested in learning about homesteading Eddie and Elizabeth are so knowledgeable and great teachers. Having Elizabeth open the bee hives and explain how they work is a must do. Also all animals are so friendly and lovey. Spending time in the pig pen giving belly rubs is definitely a highlight. Even if homesteading isn't for you, this is the best place for a relaxing scenic trip

Elizabeth provided the best experience possible as our host. She is available and willing to give you information about her farm and how to start your own! You are not only paying for a place to stay but a real experience on a quaint farm, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. (About an hour trip to ATL give or take if you need your city fix)
I would highly recommend to individuals, couples and families alike.
The animals are just what you would expect and she even has some interesting food to try. Overall words cant explain, you just have to see for yourself. 10/10 recommend - SUPPORT LOCAL FARMERS!!!

My friends and I had an amazing time at the shaggy goat farm. Although we arrived close to midnight, Elisabeth welcomed us with all the dogs and a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies. We felt at home from the moment we stepped out of the car! The cottage itself was beautifully decorated, with a lot of character and charm. Playing with the baby goats and the dogs was a major highlight for us all. The experience overall was a 11/10, we would 100% go back.

The short of it is this: Book. You won't regret it.
The long of it is this:
My husband and I were only there a day and a half yet I got back home thinking I'd been gone a week.
Elizabeth & Eddie greeted us (Eddie holding Timmy, the baby pig) and walked us down to the pool house answering all our questions and telling us cool stories about the property.
Y'all. I walked in the front door and all the fixings for s'mores were in a cute little basket with a handwritten note with it. So sweet!
The place is adorable and homey and a giant screened in porch is on the top floor with rope swings and games and an insane amount of charm.
We played pool badminton, hung out with Timmy and a whole mess of chickens who were very sweet gals.
The rooster want too loud. I was surprised. He cocka-doodle-dooed at 9am. Is that normal? No idea. I'm a city girl. The bees were still asleep too when I walked over around 8 am.
All the animals are friendly.
The hosts are so. Freaking. Nice.
And I just don't know what else to say. We had a great time.
When we go back, I'm arranging to get the bee experience--suit up, open hive, find queen, appreciate mother nature & get mind blown.

Our stay at the Shaggy Goat Farm was a perfect way to enjoy a long summer weekend. The cottage has everything you need and nothing you don’t. The wi-fi worked well for us but we barely used it. We spent most of our time on the front patio in the shade or in the pool (which is located just a few yards from the cottage). We loved meeting all the animals at the farm - especially the adorable piglet named Timothy. Believe the reviews - Shaggy Goat Farm is one of the more memorable Airbnb’s we’ve stayed at and we can’t wait to go back.

When I asked my family what we should rate The Shaggy Goat, they wanted to know if there was an “Extra” Great option (ie 5+ stars)!!! We were only there, sadly, for two nights. Eddie and Elizabeth were wonderful and the cottage was just as described— simple but cozy, with views of the great pool area and pasture.
All the animals were sooo friendly!! Family even got to get a bee keeping lesson from Ms. Elizabeth!!
Thank you so much for the fresh eggs, veggies and welcoming s’mores basket. This will be a trip we will always remember!!!!

Shaggy Goat Farm goes down as our favorite stay of all time, our best experience with the very best hosts. Never have I felt more welcomed, and more instantly at home than I did when we stepped onto this property. Not only were Eddie and Elizabeth quick to respond and so helpful, but they have a warmth and a kindness that envelops you and makes you feel as though you were a long lost friend. Their home is decorated with such care, love, and mindfulness you feel like a part of their journey. There is not a single thing they haven’t thought of, every second of this trip was pure bliss.
The Shaggy Goat Farm was everything we dreamed of and more. The animals were the sweetest and kindest I’ve come across in years, you can tell they’re raised by truly wonderful people. Jeffe was particularly fond of Dustin, and I was particularly fond of the chickens…if anyone tells you chickens aren’t hilarious they’re wrong. This place is really very special. The pool was an Oasis we truly longed for, the woods offered the solitude and contemplation that every getaway needs, and the upstairs sun room is the best room in any house I’ve ever been to—the site of many bottles of wine and many games of Trivial Pursuit.
I could write pages about how perfect this stay was, but my best word are this—book this place, NOW. You won’t regret it.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Elizabeth and Eddie's! I needed a place to just 'do nothing' and this was even better than I had imagined. The cottage is incredible and there's even a sunroom on the 2nd floor with a daybed and hammocks. The views are amazing and it was so nice to see and hear the animals. I really can't say enough about Elizabeth's hospitality! (Eddie is great too but I mainly spoke with Elizabeth and have a feeling that she's the one that stocked the fridge and kitchenette. 🙂 Thank you for all the extras like the excellent coffee, sun-brewed ice tea, and ingredients to make pancakes. There's also a nice grill and everything you need to cook while you're there. They made me feel like a friend of the family and I'm so thankful for their thoughtfulness.

This was the best AirBnB experience I’ve had so far. Elizabeth and Eddie are amazing and kind hosts. They even left us a little s’mores kit for their fire pit and let us use some fresh eggs from their chickens. Very sweet.
Their guest cabin is a lot more spacious than anticipated, perfect for a couple or small family. The lovely kitchenette was perfect for our stay and was used often. WiFi was unpredictable but we knew this and didn’t need it for our stay at all. Most of our time was spent outside, outside with animals, or playing board games/being lazy inside the cabin.
Check in with Elizabeth and Eddie before your visit to get some tips on what their animals typically like to eat and when they’re typically out and about. We should have brought more carrots!
They are a wealth of knowledge about their farm, so don’t shy away from any questions you might have about farming and gardening.
